Economist David Henderson posted on EconLib a letter that appeared in the Monterey (California) Herald. It pointed out that since about 1975, there has been no trend of increasing heat-related deaths in the United States. (The largest number of heat-related deaths took place in 1980). The author, Thomas Lee, cited EPA statistics.
Says Henderson:
“Interestingly, I posted it on Facebook, but the post was apparently taken down without any message to me. So I did it again and it was taken down again. The third time is probably not a charm. The Facebook Stasi are apparently on their game. And what nerve Tom had in referring to data reported by that hotbed of libertarianism, the Environmental Protection Agency.”
Sad.
